Save a draft vs. send for signature
Understand the difference between saving and sending.
Click "Save Draft" to save the agreement with status "draft". No emails are sent, no signing participants are created. You can come back and edit it later.
The Save Draft and Send for Signature buttons at the top of the editor.
Click "Send for Signature" to publish the agreement and send it to your signers. This requires at least one signer to be added (you'll see an error if there are none). For PDF uploads, a file must be selected.
When you send, the system creates a signing participant record for each signer (with status "pending"), records a "sent" event in the agreement history, and emails each signer a link to sign the document.
After either action, you're taken back to the e-signature list page.
Tips
- •If the email fails to send, the agreement is still created and you'll see a toast saying "Agreement created, but emails may not have sent." You can send reminders later.
